On the Paris Climate Accord and National Sovereignty

Science does not operate by consensus. Remember when you told your parents, “But my friends are doing it!” and they replied, “If all of your friends were jumping off a bridge, would you do it too?” 100+ outside nations (ALL of them with a strong motive to improve their relative standing to the leading nation [guess who that is]) decided they want to be at the behest of an outsider-controlled alliance based on shaky science (political at best) that would have the power (at least on paper) to supersede the sovereignty of THE PEOPLE to decide what’s best for their own country.

Here’s an idea: even IF we agree to the Paris Climate Accord standards, who says we want to voluntarily give up our freedom to operate under said standards according to the whims of a subjective, foreign governing body? What if the governing body switches their stance and THE PEOPLE disagree? What’s stopping us from adhering to said standards even if we, in fact, do agree? Nothing. That’s like saying we don’t trust ourselves to properly manage our finances so we need an outside government to decide when we do or do not use our debit card. Or worse: giving the government free reign to use our credit cards to purchase as they please, while we foot the interest on the bill.

When you go to the bathroom do you wash your hands? Would you do it anyway even if there was no sign? Would you like it if there was a camera shoved in your face 24/7 and you would be subjected to the harassment of 100+ of your peers if you failed to wash your hands if the situation called for it? What if you were a mechanic, working on a world-class engine, and while you were working on your vehicle, some poindexter with a white robe and a clipboard who has never touched a vehicle in their lives was standing there sighing and coughing because you didn’t wash your hands the way they and their friends agreed was correct? What if they were mandated by said authorities to put sanctions on you for doing so? What if you knew deep down that they had a vested interest in decreasing your profitability relative to all of theirs? [Let’s ignore the rabbit hole for brevity’s sake: what if the vehicle you were working on was a type of ambulance that would save people who are in danger, but the “academics” were telling you to stop operation on the vehicle because of the germs on your dirty hands?]

Has everybody forgotten what FREEDOM is all about? There’s a reason we are the LEADER — or has everyone forgotten about being the head and not the tail? The lender and not the borrower? Have you forgotten about 1776? I am so sick of everybody wanting the government to change our diapers and tell us what to do. That’s not freedom. That’s slavery.

“When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways.”
